Social Engineers Get Ready To Build a Caring Community

(Hong Kong, 22 February 2014) The “March of Social Engineers”, the latest programme under the Li Ka Shing Foundation’s “Love HK Your Way!”, entered a new phase today, as the city’s social engineers gathered together for a sharing session and collect funds to kick start their proposed projects immediately.  The sharing session today aimed to provide an opportunity for around 100 social workers, whose projects were elected, and representatives of charitable organisations, to exchange views on their caring projects and discuss a range of pressing social issues in Hong Kong.

Social media bloggers offer insights on the latest developments in Internet communications, including (second from left) Patrick Suen, KC Koo and Samson Tong. They encourage social workers to increase the reach of their projects by leveraging the power of new media.

Social workers show solidarity to serve the community with their 90 caring projects, elected by 2,970 registered social workers from among 359 proposals put up for voting.  The 90 projects receive a total of HK$11 million in funding from LKSF.
