PARKnSHOP Hong Kong
PARKnSHOP, a premier supermarket chain in Hong Kong, has
more than 200 stores and 9,000 staff.
It has always striven to lead the market in developing new
store concepts to meet the needs of its customers, who are
demanding ever-higher levels of quality and convenience.
PARKnSHOP's
spacious, modern stores draw on the latest technology to ensure
efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The multi-million-dollar
Enterprise Resources Planning system, for example, has recently
been launched to track sales from all PARKnSHOP stores. This
gives the company a huge competitive edge in strategic planning,
and allows orders from individual stores to be placed automatically.
In the past decade, PARKnSHOP has developed for its customers
a new experience of supermarket shopping. The first of many
Hong Kong Superstores opened in 1996 in Whampoa Garden (45,000sq
ft), offering a huge range of international goods, an in-store
bakery, wet-market-style stalls selling fruit, vegetables
and live fish, Chinese and Japanese dishes cooked on the spot.
PARKnSHOP's Megastores - the first of which opened in 2002
in Metro City Tseung Kwan O (72,000sq ft) - provide geniune
one-stop shop convenience. They have everything the Superstores
offer, plus an unmatched selection of household items, ranging
from bedding and electrical goods to kitchenware and clothing.
The
company's ground-breaking Fresh Check campaign has set new
standards in food hygiene in Hong Kong. In 1998, PARKnSHOP
set up the industry's first dedicated food-safety laboratory,
and has since established the Fresh Check Hygiene Academy
for training staff and suppliers in safe food-handling.
PARKnSHOP built Asia's first multi-temperature distribution
and food-processing centre at a cost of US$30 million. The
centre which earned PARKnSHOP the HKQAA ISO 9002 certificate,
is now one of the six fresh food and grocery centres that
ensure freshness and quality are not compromised by the journey
from farm to customer. At the HK$6 million Fresh Fish Centre,
live seafood is kept in purified water and all individual
suppliers can be traced.
The Company launched two house-brand product in 1995: the
PARKnSHOP and Best Buy brands provide customers with a broad
range of quality products at the lowest possible prices.
PARKnSHOP
also recognises the value of its people. To continue the company's
success story, it has invested heavily in staff development
to equip them for new challenges with training programmes
for employees at all levels.
Shoppers have come to regard PARKnSHOP as a trusted friend.
It was named Hong Kong's "Most Favoured Brand" in
a recent international survey by independent research house
Ipsos-Reid. For the last two years, it has been named the
brand that Hong Kong users of Internet giant Yahoo! trust
the most, and the Yahoo! Emotive Brand Award in the retail
chain category. In 2003, PARKnSHOP topped the Supermarkets/Convenience
Stores Category in the Hong Kong Retail Management Association's
"Service & Courtesy Awards.

PARKnSHOP China
PARKnSHOP has spearheaded a transformation of the style of
shopping in China since it opened its first store in Shekou
in 1984. That has made PARKnSHOP the first foreign retailer
to enter the China market.
Since
then PARKnSHOP has always stayed ahead of customers' demand
for one-stop shopping in China. The first Superstore opened
in 2000 and the first Megastore opened the following year
in the busy Tianhe district of Guangzhou.
The Megastores combine wet market, supermarket with self-service
discount store shopping, where customers can buy everything
from fresh vegetables to home appliances, clothes, furniture
and toys - all at unbeatable prices.
PARKnSHOP
commits to guarantee food hygiene, freshness, quality and
service to consumers in Hong Kong and China alike.
