Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited (HTHKH) operates GSM dual-band and 3G mobile telecommunications services in Hong Kong and Macau under the licensed "3" brand and provides fixed-line telecommunications services in Hong Kong under the licensed "Hutchison Global Communications" (HGC) brand.

Hong Kong and Macau Mobile Telecommunications Business

In Hong Kong, our mobile business maintains its position as the leading 3G operator and one of the largest mobile operators in the extremely competitive mobile telecommunications market. As of 30 June 2009, we had over 2.7 million subscribers (including Macau). Combining this track record with a profitable business based on a brand desired by technology-conscious consumers, that's no mean feat to achieve in the city with one of the highest mobile phone penetration rates in the world.

Hutchison Telephone Company Limited (HTCL) has been a pioneer in Hong Kong since rolling out its first mobile network in 1985, at a time when mobile phones were the size of briefcases and as heavy as bricks. Leading the evolution to an era when mobiles now fit into the palm of your hand, we were the first operator in Hong Kong to launch 3G services in January 2004. Delivering our 3G vision to Hong Kong was consistent with our aims of delivering the most innovative and best quality video based multimedia and voice services to consumers. HTCL also provides GSM dual-band and CDMA services, as well as GPRS data services through applications such as Blackberry email, with high network quality and extensive automatic international roaming. All of our Hong Kong mobile services (2G and 3G) are marketed under the 3 brand to ensure consistent positioning and values.

Our GSM services in Macau were launched in August 2001 through Hutchison Telephone (Macau) Company Limited (Hutchison Macau). In October 2006, we were awarded a 3G licence in Macau. Hutchison Macau launched "Turbo 3G" mobile broadband services from 3 Macau, showcasing a wide range of mobile multi-media contents with high speed Turbo 3G 3.6Mbps HSDPA network in 2007. Our business in Macau benefits from the significant cross-border visitor traffic from Hong Kong and China.

Hong Kong Fixed-line Business

Our integrated telecom and IT subsidiary, Hutchison Global Communications Limited, operates one of the Hong Kong's largest fibre-to-the-building telecommunications networks. Our value-added broadband services, extensive fixed-line telecom, network-systems integration and software application services provide opportunities for our business partners to get the most from their IT and telecommunications investments while further driving convergence.
