These investments include the manufacture and distribution of healthcare, personal care and traditional Chinese medicine products, the provision of aircraft maintenance, engineering and cabin cleaning services, the provision of logistics services, the operation of a rice farm and rice trading, hotel ownership as well as the manufacture of optical transmission equipment.
Hutchison China MediTech Limited (Chi-Med) is a subsidiary of HWL. Chi-Med, the holding company of a pharmaceutical and healthcare group based primarily in Mainland China, is listed on the Alternative Investment Market of The London Stock Exchange Plc (Stock Code: HCM). Chi-Med focuses on researching, developing, manufacturing and selling pharmaceuticals and health oriented consumer products.
Hutchison Harbour Ring Limited (HHR) is principally engaged in property investments and has been listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong since 1991 (Stock Code: 715).

HWL, though Hutchison Water, its Water Division, owns 49% of the Sorek desalination plant at Sorek Israel. The Sorek plant is a 150Mm3 per year reverse osmosis sea water desalination plant and therefore one of the world’s largest desalination plants. This project has been built under a 26.5 years concession from the State of Israel. During August 2013, the Sorek plant commenced selling desalinated water to the State of Israel.
